Enjoy fishing and crabbing right off the Boardwalk, or enjoy kayaking and paddle boarding right from the bay beach. And be sure to come down to the bay beach at sunset to enjoy the breathtaking views.

The Boardwalk
Commemorative Boardwalk Boards keep our memories alive. A personally engraved Boardwalk Board is the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, commemorate a family memory or honor a loved one. Boards will be placed randomly along the new walkway at the bay beach to the entrance of the boat basin tunnel – along Whale Creek. If you are interested in ordering a board, please complete the below Boardwalk Order Form and submit with payment to the office.
Want to see the Boardwalk being made, check out this video: OB3 Whale Creek Boardwalk
Playground
Just one example of community labor of love, our playground was purchased with fundraising donations and and installed by community volunteers. We invite kids in the community to enjoy the swings, slides, and the rest of the playground equipment, but please be safe, and respectful of the equipment.
Kayak Launch & Storage Racks
There are 17 kayak racks, totaling 102 slots located along the bay beach.
All kayaks must be removed from their slots on or before November 1st.
This season’s kayak rack renters will have the same slot available next season, payable on or before March 1st. After that, unpaid racks will be released to members on the waiting list. If you elect not to use your assigned slot next year, or if you wish to request a different slot — or for any other questions — please email info@oceanbeach3.org.
Each slot costs $50 per kayak, per season, and includes one decal. If you need additional decals, you can purchase them for an additional $10. If you wish to use the kayak launch site only, please pay $10 and fill out the Kayak Liability Release form. You will then receive your decal. If you are a renter and interested in using the kayak launch site, please contact the office for details.
Decals must be placed on the front, left side of your kayak or paddleboard. Cables are supplied for your security, but you must supply your own lock. For the safety of all members, bungie cords are not allowed on the kayak racks.
There are two rinse stations located on the bay beach for anyone wishing to wash their kayak before storing. After the summer season has ended, this rinse station may not be functional.
If you wish to be added to the waitlist for the kayak racks, please complete the Kayak Rental Agreement Form, and the Kayak Liability Release Form below and mail to the club office.
Skee Ball Fame!
OB3’s historic 1940s Skee Ball machine is in the news ! Footage taken in the old clubhouse will be included in a new documentary film on the history of the game of Skee Ball. Click on this link to check it out: Skee Ball Documentary
Boat Basin
All vessels must be removed from the boat basin on or before November 1st.
The boat basin will be shut off on November 2nd.
If you have a jet ski dock that you plan to leave in the boat basin for next season, then you must pay a $25 deposit, per slip, by November 1st. This deposit will be deducted from your slip charge next season. Otherwise, your jet ski dock and poles must be removed on or before November 1st.
There are 38 slips available for rent in the Boat Basin, which is located between West Dolphin Way and West Swordfish Way, along Basin Way. Members in good standing may request a slip in the Boat Basin for one season. The cost to rent a slip for the season is $100.00, payable to Ocean Beach & Bay Club. Please, review and complete the Boat Basin Application & Agreement below and submit with payment, along with:
- Proof of insurance in the amount of $500,000
- Copy of boat or Jet Ski registration
- Copy of NJ issued boat or Jet Ski number
Once approved, you will receive an Ocean Beach & Bay Club decal which must be placed on your boat or Jet Ski.
Due to changes in the water level of the Boat Basin, it is important to recognize the height required for your watercraft to navigate through the tunnel. You need to be aware that this can change very quickly from when you exit and re-enter. It is recommended that you use minimal or no power while going through the tunnel. Have a buddy watching you for safety.
Here is the tide chart for the Bay, click here.
Also when launching your watercraft from the boat ramp it is easier at high tide. Please lock the gate when you are done. All boats and Jet Skis must be removed from the Boat Basin by November 1st of each season.
Members in good standing have free access to the boat ramp, located on West Dolphin Way. The gate is locked, but members can request the combination for the lock from the Club office.
